Eos- our honorary 4th QMIX-A-Lot!!

So since we totally forgot about the CYP meet and greet on the 21st, we decided that we would go visit the pretty bronzy lady on 5th street!

So I can't pose like her, but that's ok- it was fun seeing her up close and personal!

Awww- yay for eos! thanks to the CYP and everyone who saved her! She is too cool to not be in Columbus!

Uncommon girls for and Uncommon cause!!

We gots our balloon from the heritage fund! We discovered that it's to promote the rebuilding of the Commons Mall...which is a great cause!

And it was super fun walking down the street with a balloon! I felt like I was 5 again!

Princess Pantyho's!

So Last night two of the three QMIX-a-lots went out to eat with two of the three Damsels N Success to the Columbus Bar to fufill the "downtown eatery" challenge! We originally wanted to try the fork at 532, but they along with papa's deli and Tre Biccheri are all closed monday evening!! I personally found that to be somewhat odd. Oh well I'm sure they have their reasons....

Here we are with our waitor Jason. He was VERY amused with our conversations!! He always just happened to catch just the right bits and pieces of what we were talking about!

This is our yummy dessert! Both of us teams got the exact same thing! we shared loaded fries and this amazing Xango's deep fried cheesecake!! mmmm.....

If you ever need to bribe the QMIX-a-lots---cheesecake will do it!! I was really excited about the cheesecake....forget silverware!

And here's a typical Brittany and Sara Beth picture....it has nothing to do with the race except it was taken this evening. it's just for your sheer enjoyment yall!

So we had a blast with the Damsels!!! We plan on hanging out again with them for another challenge very soon!

Shear Genius!!!

Brittany Gray and I had a BLAST with the Bad Hair Day contest!! So we didn't win anything, but it was so much fun to play with Brittany's hair! She was our obvious choice for our entry because she has long and thick hair. Easy to work with!

So we came up with a two birds nest idea....and we weren't sure how it was going to work out, but it totally worked out way better than we ever expected!

Here's Brittany! lookin fabulous!!!

Birds eye view!!! hahaha- yes that horrible pun was intended!

showin off our masterpiece! my favorite part of the do is all the sticks!!

maybe I missed my calling? Maybe I should be on Shear Genius season 3? haha- probably not.

At the Bad Hair Day Contest! see- and it still held up too!

We Met up with another CYP too- The Tri-Tans!

Donna Stouder also had fabulous hair!!

Brittany in line for the Bad Hair Show Walk off!!

In the end- we didn't win anything, but that's ok. We knew that if we gave brittany a fabulous dress and some funky model makeup she would be on the cover of VOGUE and be the next top couture model!!

Block Partay!!!

OK- So I know these are a tad bit out of order, but hey- you gotta do whatcha gotta do!

So Brittany Gray and I had a BLAST at the Block Party! Yeah it was hot and nasty....but we still had fun with it!

Oh yeah- not only did we attend....we were two of the three Emcees!!! (Jim Burgan being the 3rd!)

Dishin out all the info before Mike Milligan's performance!

Brittany Gray is getting some info From Jeff and Donna!

I even had the honor of drawing the winner of the 50/50 raffle!! That was a lot of fun too! So yeah- we didn't dress up as boxes, but we did get to introduce all the local talent! Which they all rocked downtown!

OOooommmm.....

So I think this is the challenge that we were looking forward to the most! We had the opportunity to go to a meditation class at One Body One Soul! We were there along with Team Abner, Team Greene, and The Local Drafts.

ok- so we really didnt sit around and say Oooommmm.....but we did do a lot of breathing exercises and clearing of the mind stuff. It was very interesting! Tamera and her staff are awesome and her shoppe is super cute!

And here we are all relaxed!!

*side note- yes- we know we aren't wearing our CYP official shirts.....but those shirts don't fit us well, Brittany Strahl lost hers, and well, as the QMIX-A-Lot team we have our own shirts already!! We thought ours would be more presentable.

Fairs and Farms! And Oprah lies....

So the QMIX-a Lots spent last Saturday morning at the Farmer's Market/Fair on the Square! It was kinda fun to walk around and see what local area farmers and merchants had to offer! It reminded me of the markets in Europe kinda....which are super fun I think! Its too bad we cant make that a regular thing here in the states...
So we were looking around trying to find something unique and original...and we came across the Sierra Club's vehicle-- there was foliage growing on the roof!!

So we thought that was pretty wierd- you don't see that every day! We also tried some of their "As seen on Oprah" Purslane they had on display!

Cool story about this stuff- the lady at this display was watching oprah the other day and they were doing a bit on this plant that supposedly has all these antioxidants, vitamins, and other stuff thats good for you. Oprah asked where this guy found it- and he said that his was imported from Paris....this lady who knows her gardening...gets up, checks her backyard and sees what she always thought was a weed is this purslane stuff!!

So in conclusion....Oprah Lies.

and the Farmers Market was pretty sweet! Go get your purslane!

Triathlon crazyness!

Two of the three QMIX-a-Lots rocked the corner of 300 W and 400 S the Saturday of the Columbus Challenge Sprint Triathlon! (or maybe it was 300 S and 400W? I dunno. I get them mixed up. it's that one corner with that one cornfield....oh wait...nevermind)

Yay! here we are in our super sweet green Ts! sorry CYP for not wearing the true amazing race t-shirts- but we wanted to represent the Triathlon properly. (plus the CYP shirts are too big!)

Yay I got to hold the radio! So I would have been farther in the street but since they ran out of super awesome vests and stop signs for directing traffic, we had to stay on the corner and let the sherriff do the work. we were good communicators though! (we should be since we do work in radio!)

Our corner! oh crap I was wrong earlier. my bad!

Go bikers go!!

Indiana Bank and Trust Company Presents QMIX Musical Fireworks XIX BOOMTASTIC!

Of course the QMIX –A-Lots were there rockin’ the party!

Sadly, we were not able to make it to the CYP party to hang out with all the other cool folks, but we were definitely at the REAL party at Ivy Tech! We might be biased, but this is the best race challenge ever!
Lunch at City Hall- Warriors or Lovers?
Brittany Strahl and I (Sara Beth) made our appearance at the Business Seminar on July 10th. It was very interesting- John Goll, LMFT did an intriguing presentation on Archetypes and how being able to see these traits in other people will help you relate to not only co-workers but everyone you meet in life. And it’s not like we are strictly one Archetype either- we can be all of them at several points in life—the Archetypes being Sovereign King/Queen, Magician, Lover, and Warrior. It was an interesting and entertaining seminar to say the least!

Rock The Park- Holla!

Not only did the BoDeans Rock the Park, but The QMIX-A-Lots did too!! Brittany Gray and I gladly volunteered to help out the Arts Council with this event. We spent our shift checking IDs, manning ticket sales, and played drink chaperone while guests used the facilities. The Arts Council is a great group to work with and I would gladly help them out again if they asked me to!

Oh Chuck Taylor….How I love thee and thy shoe!

So we went to Andy Mann’s for our Super secret challenge….and we were all expecting this huge complicated obstacle course….but to our surprise it was just a simple question….”What Columbus Native was the creator of the Converse All Star shoes?” Duh Andy!! Chuck Taylor!!

PS- I love my chucks….I wish I could wear them every day! If my boss would let me of course. Here our team posed with my fabulous pair!

Da Climb….

So steps 1-20 were HORRIBLE!!!!
haha...we may be out of shape slightly, but not that bad!

The Magic number is…..131! yes that’s right! 131 steps are on that tower out at Mill Race Park! This was a fun event for all- and a feat of strength and overcoming fear for Brittany Gray! She has a slight fear of heights- but we pushed her up the tower anyway!

She eventually calmed down and we were able to have a real pic on the balcony!

And I've always wanted to take a pic like this....I'm crushing the courthouse roof!!!

EXPLODING ENGINE!!! aaaahhhh!!!!

OK not really- but it's a super cool sculpture on display at the Corporate Office Building at Cummins!

And this was extra special, because we had a extra special private tour of the engine!

Big thanks to my Dad for giving us the exclusive tour!!
